Western River Expedition - August 10, 2015

First day of our River Adventure and we have to be in the hotel lobby at 6:00 AM.   

We go from the hotel to the airport by bus, where we are divided into two planes.  The first group leaves by plane when the second half of the group is told that the second plane was having issues and we would have to wait an hour until another plane comes for us!    

You can see the water clear up from the Colorado River when it runs into Lake Meade!

We land at the Bar 10 Ranch.  Since we are really late half of this group gets right on the helicopter to the river.

We wait for the other half of the last group to arrive!

Haulapai Ranch

Last stop of the West Rim visit.  We eat dinner here and walked through the down.  We even photographed a few troublemakers and they were caught by the long arm of the law!!!!

Guano Point

This is another great spot for photos.   While we had a little rain it did not dampen our experience.   This spot has two peaks where you can capture some great 360 degree views.

We will be rafting down this river some time in the next three days

Where is the helicopter?
Every couple of minutes you will see another copter down in the canyon
